About This Performance

This concert is part of the Donald & Dorothy Kardon Chamber Music Series and the Laurie Wagman Century Series.

Having forged an intense connection through collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma´s Silk Road Ensemble and The Knights, virtuoso mandolinist Avi Avital and string quartet Brooklyn Rider reunite for a program of new works and arrangements for mandolin and string quartet. The evening celebrates musical innovation with interpretations of music by Bach and Boccherini, premieres by Osvaldo Golijov and Colin Jacobsen, as well as works by Assad, Shaw, Sollima, and Zhurbin.
